They think it's killing children. Simple as that...for many.

Now it is true, they don't want to take care of those children once they are born. And neither do I want to take care of other people's poor choices by living beyond their means and having children they can't afford. I don't want to pay for their pre-school or day care. Not even sure I understand the difference

honestly, not every job should have a living wage.

If I had my way, no Welfare, tax the churches unless they cover food/housing assistance in place of the govt.

Overall, I believe that we should provide free healthcare and education. People would then need to make enough to put a roof over their head, and food in their bellies. But to make this also work, other dominoes need to fall like Corporations actually paying taxes and pay a livable wage...

There's a lot I agree with in the above post, scouty. That said, the one big disagreement I have is that every job should have a living wage. Not everyone through no fault of their own has the competencies to obtain a job with high compensation, but at a minimum they should have the ability to have a job which pays enough to provides the basic necessities like food, shelter, and access to health care including prescriptions. It is true that people do need to make responsible choices when it comes to things like the price of homes/condos etc., but there's many people that don't even have the ability to even come close to owning or even renting a suitable place to live.

The other thing I take issue is when you say you don't want to take care of other people's poor choices specifically having children they can't afford. Obviously in cases like r*pe or ince$t, it wasn't the women's choice. Why should the woman be punished further by now not allowing her the ability to terminate a pregnancy that clearly was out of her control? Even if a woman has consensual sex and gets pregnant, it should be her choice and her choice alone whether or not she decides to carry her baby to term especially in situations where the man who got her pregnant is nowhere to be found and is providing no support (either financial or emotional).

TLDR, just my thoughts as a person who was raised a Catholic, but is a pretty lapse Catholic today and thinks it is brutal that you have predominately old white men deciding that women should have no control over their bodies.

I have no issue keeping choice legal as a Catholic or not. I also find that ince$t/r*pe shouldn't even have come under the policy. I didn't want to expand into the weeds on these one offs. But I do support choice as the rule of law.

Too many damn people for my liking already!

And sorry, but not every job needs to be a livable wage. I will not agree to that... And if given free healthcare and education, people can lift themselves up or take 2 jobs to support their need for shelter and food.

I also add that churches no longer go tax free unless they pick up the burden of food and shelter. More so than some do now...

As much of a pessimist as I am, I do believe that when you lower the bar for people, they will attain it. When you raise the bar, they will attain it...

Appreciate the discourse and there are no perfect or easy answers.

In all seriousness, not even a hint of any policy initiatives from Candice in that rant, it's basically the Libs are bad and we know what Canadians want.
