Honestly, I think deep down they kind know that they have been doubling down on stupid for so long that there is no easy route back, and it makes them feel powerless so they lash out.

Kind of like a "how the fuck did I get here" kind of thing.


Maybe that's wishful thinking on my part that there is some kernel of knowledge somewhere in there. Who knows, maybe it's just little dick syndrome.
