I gave a talk on privacy once and said I was giving away a 500 dollar Amazon gift card if anyone was interested. There was a sign up sheet at the back with lines for name, address, email address and Social Security Number. 100 people attended. I got 59 SSNs. The people in the talk were all info sec people.

One guy actually complained when there wasn't a drawing for the gift card. I told him I would sign up for a credit card in his name and buy him one. He still went ahead and complained to my boss, who just laughed at him. He didn't last long.
