Been seeing this narrative going around - the parade participants gave a poor showing on purpose because they didn't want to do it, and no one in the grandstand would have any idea they were being given a poor performance out of disrespect. A guy I knew in High School, who is a full on Trumper, was losing his shit over the disrespect of marching out of time (each line had a different foot forward for example).
