Thompson kind of reminds me of Hickson. "Energy", but not exactly skill.

Waiters is a bit inconsistent, but he's just a rookie, and looks decent so far.

I'm not too big on expecting much from the draft, even for top 5 picks.

The average NBA career is 4.7 years, and when I look at past drafts, about 1/2 of lottery picks are either out of the league, or 3rd stringers, within 5 years.

The better way to rebuild is to get some decent FAs, they're a little more reliable.

True. There has been so many busts in top that it is hard to expect anything.

IMO, there might be 2 or 3 good players in an average draft, the rest are replaceable and you can get FAs that are just as good.

It also seems teams favor bigs over small.

Just looking at # 1 picks (for convenience sake), Irving, Wall, Rose, Iverson are the only guards drafted # 1 in the last 17 years.



SFs almost never get drafted # 1. James, Glenn Robinson. Larry Johnson since 1991.
