I know this wouldn't happen in a million years but the dumpster fire that is the White Sox demands some attention:

Sale is blowing up every bridge there, he wants out. Would you be willing to strip the farm for that player, that contract (very team friendly)?

Like Beede + Heston + Panik type shit?

I don't think that is enough to get Sale. Sale is at the top of his game as a top 10 pitcher in MLB. He has an insane, team friendly contract that takes him through the 2019 season.

Panik is a stud, but he is coming off a season in which HE BROKE HIS BACK. Beede is a VERY under-rated prospect, but he is a prospect who is, well, unde-rated. Heston can be a #2 for half a season, and is already oldish for a guy who has not shown he can be a consistent MLB SP.

I would think that to get Sale, the Giants would likely have to part with Arroyo, Beede, Bickford, plus. Maybe that is worthwhile, but I think it would cost at least that much.

I wouldn't include any of the ML starters, certainly not an All-Star. Also, we'd have to ship out a SP, and I can't see the Gs sending any of the current SP away. Finally, do we really want to add a malcontent? I'm not sure.

Nope, we are not a good trade partner for the ChiSox

The Red Sox are already working it. Minor leaguers and major leaguers (Bucholz and Sandoval) are rumored to be in the offering. Sales is causing such a shitstorm that the ownership may have to fire everyone in the front office.

The dude is not happy over there, that is for sure. However, is he creating a bad reputation for himself as well? The front office has the right to change policy. I get that he feels lied to, but I don't hear any of the other White Sox players making a big fuss about it. Even LaRoche was more willing to retire than whine to the media.

But here's where I don't think that Sale is going anywhere but the South Side come early April. The team went all in this past offseason. There is no rebuilding in 2016. I would think that they would be crazy to get rid of Sale after all the player acquisitions that they made.

He's not a malcontent, he's very specifically got a problem with a shitty organization. And how do you figure him not being worth an all-star?

Also they would only have to ship prospects not current SP

But as I said won't happen.

This is all true. But it won't matter now that your best player wants out and will be talking shit all year. They are fucked, again

Well, think that through:

1. I didn't say he's not "worth" an All-Star; I said I wouldn't trade OUR All-Star 2b in the deal.
2. By definition he's a malcontent. It might be justifiable, it may not.
3. If you ship current prospects, what happens to Horse and Peaved? We don't have an open spot in the rotation.
4. We agree it won't happen. I guess for different reasons.

They have been extremely protective of their prospects, specifically Urias, Seager, and De Leon. I don't think that the Doyers would be in play unless the asking price is not their blue chip prospects.

We don't need to take the risk. That is assuming the disappointing performance of the SP's this spring won't carry over to the regular season.

Somebody please tell me there is a bona fide reason why our SP's have stunk so far - like Righetti isn't letting them throw breaking pitches or something.

While I would prefer that the SPs were throwing no-nos, I am not concerned. They are not trying to get hitters out. They are working on perfecting the curve, or finding the proper slot for the heater. If they have to throw 7 curves in a row, who cares if the get hit. They are just trying to get the right grip.

Sale would be awesome.

I would think the Dodgers and Red Sox will be all over this, maybe come July.

Count me out for Sale. I like the kid as a pitcher, but he's caused a pretty big stink. I'm ok with sticking up for Laroche publicly, but at some point, stop running to the press. When you factor in that, plus what it would take to pry him from the Sox.....no thanks.

He also looks like he throws with a lot of arm.....a lot of strain on that skinny arm to my untrained eye.

The possibility of Sale being on the trading block right now is nearly impossible anyway. It would take an extremely idiotic GM to trade him right now. When your team has invested dollars in the 2016 season, its spring training and other teams smell blood in the water, there's no way you are going to get a good deal and not lose the entire clubhouse with the contradictory moves.
A more likely possibility is that Sale continues to burn bridges through the first part of the season, the White Sox absolutely tank and the White Sox' front office gets overwhelmed with trade offers. With his contract and ability, the White Sox would get much more back, potentially.
