So I was thinking about this an wanted your thoughts...

Has BB messed up the chemistry on this team?

-He traded his best PR (Jones) in the off-season. They claimed it was to sign other player (HT, Collins, J.Sher, Butler). Well Collins is out and J.Sher was benched.
-He then trades his best Def player mid season because of "who the fuck knows". Players were not happy about this at all. He was their best coverage LB, and the fastest LB on the team. Insert a slow ass rookie.
-Constant rotation of CB. Butler/Ryan active every week. The we rotate the other guys, Coleman, Rowe, Jones. This has to cause communication problems on the field. It reminds me of last yr when we would rotate the OL all the time and at times it was pretty bad. Now Scar is back and that has stopped, and they have been very good most of the time.
-Benched your best PR in J.Sher in place of Flowers, yet he continues to let Nink play over both of them. Nink is not very good this yr.

I think this defense issue is communications, I mean they rushed 2 and dropped 9 into coverage vs Sea and Wilson destroyed them!! 9 guys to cover at max 5 receivers. They are also slow and not athletic enough. I would rather have NE kept Jones, and drafted Thueny in the 2nd than have Cyrus Jones right now. They could have made it work with Collins also.....

It seems to many "statements" are needed to be made by BB this yr. I am not sure why, but there seems to be a lot of guys who are not happy here or with him. I honestly thought Marty B was so uninterested in playing yesterday, he didn't really celebrate the Dola TD and seemed moody yesterday. IDK..thoughts??

I was hinting on this the other day. I feel there is something going on behind closed doors, especially the D side of the ball. Part is likely BB ego?
As for Marty B he hasn't seemed right since his injury. Not getting as many looks. I'm tired of TB being locked in to Edelman. Tom others like Marty are open. Get off your first read. Also there was word about NE making Marty an extension offer. I wonder if this is playing into it as well?
Sure seems like some motivation on this team is missing.

The D had several sacks against the Niners but still are not getting the turnovers. There just seems to be a lack of spirit with the unit as a whole. Someone needs to light a fire under them and I don't know who that could be right now.

Could not agree more!! TB is all about Edelman, and misses out on other guys. It's even more obvious with Gronk out. As good as a QB TB is, it pisses me off to no end how he will not throw a guys way because something went wrong before. Even Dola has not been getting the looks. I can sense Marty's frustration. Gronk plays and he blocks, Gronk's out and he blocks. He is match-up nightmare in this league. The fact we really only have 2 TE's has be getting to him. As for the contract, we'll see. Contract rumors out of NE are just that....rumors that never come true.

Edelman had 17 targets on Sunday. The reason......he is from the bay area. Anytime a player gets to play at home the first time...they get far more chances.

Watched a very good discussion on this the yesterday in the hospital after getting my heart Catheter done.

Several minor things on the defense......

1. Several 'new' players
2. Several 'Rookies'
3. Several older players trying to overcome injuries
4. Several players trying to do too much and not just do their own job.

Chandler Jones......Good pass rusher, problem with drugs. Anybody who walks naked into a police station looking for help has a problem. Synthetic weed wasn't the only drug and that wasn't his first time.

Jamie Collins. See #4 above. Then he had made a decision that he was so good that he didn't have to give 100%.
Belichick made him a contract offer and it wasn't close to what he feels he should be paid. Rather than try to negotiate and work something out, he started to bitch in the locker room and cause a distraction.

Belichick felt that Sheard had picked up his game enough to take Collins' spot and all of a sudden, he goes into cruise control figuring he's got a new contract in the bag. Apparently BB had a warning for him and he ignored it. Time to stay behind and watch the game at Foxboro with the rest of the guys who didn't make the trip. BTW, players who don't make a road trip with the team are required to watch the game at the team meeting room at Gillette.

Chemistry? I'd say it's more a case of being a bit dysfunctional because pieces are missing and pieces aren't playing to their own ability. Some guys may be trying too hard because they want that big payday and that contract is a self distraction. Like BB has said numerous times on the sideline. Do your job and just your job and everything works. Try to do someone else's job or more than your job and everything fails.

This isn't an isolated incident. Granted 17 looks may have been. But, he's been locking in to Edelman way too much. Tom spread the ball around and this offense is unstoppable. Especially start looking to Marty B and Amendola when Gronk isn't around. These guys are one on one or more open. Glad to see he's looking Mitchell's way. Guess that will last till he screws up a route or fumbles in what Tommy feels is a key time?

Ken, hope you are feeling good and hope things went well.

I think at this point, I want BB to put his best defensive guys out there and role with that. No more active one week, then inactive the other. I think Coleman has proved that he nothing more than a guy who will fill in for an injury. No more Nink over Flowers/Long/Jabal. I would love to see Grissom get more looks. You have to see if Mingo can play, and Van Noy needs more time over Shea.

Things went very well Monday. Two of my bypass arteries are blocked, one 100% and the other 90%. The surgeon had me have a CAT Scan and will determine if he can go through my groin and insert stents in the arteries and insert the valve or if I have to have open heart for the second time and bypass the bypasses before he replaces the valve.

Catheter is really cool. They give you a relaxant, and put a small tube in the artery in your wrist. Doesn't hurt at all. Then he puts the camera and tube into the artery and sends it up your arm and into your heart. I only felt it up to my elbow, no pain. They release the dye and check everything and then a special dye for the big arteries and you get heat in the heart area for 10 seconds. You can watch if you want. Then he pulls the tube out, removes the one in your wrist and they put a high pressure band on your wrist for 4 hours. Mine had 12 lbs and they released it 4 lbs at a time over an hour and a half. No squirting allowed. Pressure band aid and home you go after all the monitors and the IV is removed. I walked out with my wife, no wheel chair or assistance.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes. Phase II is a bit more tricky.
