The Denver Broncos will release 12-time Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey, who had a $1 million roster bonus due March 15, league sources told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Do we try to sign him or continue the youth movement at CB?

1. He will be expensive
2. He will be even more expensive for us
3. Got to go with the youth movement
4. I think if we are the only team offering him a gig, he would retire first. You do remember he was ready to sit out a year rather than stay with the Skins when we franchised him. There is bad blood there.

We can give the Broncos Portis for Bailey if they want .

Agreed! Even if we had a chance to sign him, I'd still say pass! I am probably the biggest Champ Bailey fan on this board. Been watching him, since his Georgia days. Couldn't even begin to tell how excited I was, when we drafted him 7th overall in 1999. However, he will be 36, this year. His elite days are clearly over. We have to get younger. No more old overpriced veterans. It doesn't work for us.

Bailey is done, just like London last year the body at that age at that position doesn't work. The Darrell Greens of the world don't come around that often.
