Quit checking me out.
So Alabama's rematch with LSU was bullshit and doesn't count then.
It would have been if Oklahoma St hadn't lost to Iowa St.

You mean playing conference games instead of sneaking/scheduling in Mercer on purpose in the second to last game. Yeah ok. lol
So
"Playing a weaker schedule = not being good enough".
4d20 is all about opinion and keeping teams out.
Most others are of the opposite opinion
Again, I'd trade schedules with you in a heartbeat.
LSU
Miss St
Mercer
Auburn
is much tougher than:
ASU
Arizona
Colorado
UCLA
USC schedule is cruise control.
Why would Florida get the nod over Georgia in 2012?
They finished with the same regular season record, and Georgia won the head to head matchup, and came 5 yards short of beating Bama in the SECCG.
You're basically punishing Georgia for winning the division and winning the H2H matchup if you put Florida in over them.
And on an unrelated note, that was the last SECCG that was competitive.
Obviously assuming a lot but I think UGA wins the national title if they don't come up a few yards short in that classic. The 2012 Notre Dame team had that paper tiger like feel to them much like the 2014 Florida State team did.
Sure you would. USC gets no bye this season Alabama gets a Bye - and Mercer. Nice. lolAgain, I'd trade schedules with you in a heartbeat.

Playing a weaker schedule = you don't deserve it.
When you play a schedule that 10 or 20 teams could have gone undefeated on, then you don't deserve it over the 10 or 20 teams that did play tougher schedules and didn't go undefeated but could have on the easier schedule.
For example, Texas and Oklahoma have to play each other and one of them is getting a loss. Just because some team plays a bunch of easy competition and has a better record doesn't mean they deserve it over one of those 2 teams.
And no, I'm not going to apologize for that opinion. If you want to be considered to be a national champion, then you play a schedule that reflects it. If you don't play such a schedule, then I don't care.
Not to mention, when you don't take it into account you only encourage teams to play even easier schedules, rather than harder.
Basically it's two bye weeks before rivalry games. And playing a loop hole used to manipulate rankings.Sure you would. USC gets no bye this season Alabama gets a Bye - and Mercer. Nice. lol
Those both look like tough schedules to me.
Again you make me laugh. From a fan whos team ,when give an option, purposely schedules Mercer-Chattanooga- Southern (pick a state)- FAU- Western (pick a state), Middle (pick a state) is talking about not encouraging teams to schedule weak teams.

LSU

Bye week
Auburn
As opposed to
Notre Dame
ASU
Arizona
Colorado
UCLA
As far as the rest of the topic. I believe all the key points were covered. Expanding the play offs does not water down the regular season. If anything it amplifies it. And auto bids actually reduces human error and reliance on biased polls. And brand does factor in see Penn State being snubbed last year based on a judgement call.Rather than what was accomplished on the field. Theres really no legitimate argument not to expand other than fear imo

And yet our schedule is still much tougher than yours.
Go figure.
Oh I forgot how dominant the SEC was last year. LOL. The Pac had more ranked teams If it wasn't for Bama the SEC would have been the worst major conference last year. But hey Mercer and Chattanooga can be tough. Good thing you guys only schedule them at home.
If you say so. It doesn't change the facts. Or the consistent pattern. A bye week before the LSU rivalry game. Followed by a Bye week before the Auburn rivalry. Really when you look at it.There's no reason to be afraid of an expanded play off format It progresses the sport and would be yet another step closer to a true championNotre Dame.
Even Notre Dame fans are facepalming you right now. Another team that gets way more hype than they actually deserve. You 2 could have a bigger rivalry on that than you do on the field.

Is this about USC? Seems to me the trojan fans are in favor of the play off system. And expansion of the system. In order to avoid these situations. And crown a true champion.Rather than the old unreliable system you speak of. I would have preferred they had a play off that year. And in many other seasons personallyUSC fans claim the AP poll in the BCS era, while talking about true champions.
Alabama outscored the 2 best Pac12 teams by 76-13.
Scrub conference.
