Has there been a bigger first round disaster in recent memory? Dennard would be in the conversation.

The last first rounder we had live up to his draft position was AJ Green..... And you have to go back to Leon Hall to find one before that. But yeah.... Duke Tobin is one of the best in the game.

And I realize some might put Tyler Eifert on the list...... But can we really count him? Don't you actually have to play more than half the games to be counted?

Forget more than half, he hasn't played half

I'm sick of hearing how great the Bengals are at drafting. They got lucky one year with Green and Dalton. Just like the Cowboys this year with Zeke and Dak.

After that it's been a bunch of duds like Dennard, Hunt, Will Clarke, Ogbuehi, Fisher, PJ Dawson...the list goes on.

The best player the Bengals have found since the 2011 draft is Tez. And he wasn't drafted.

I think alot of these players we drafted are pretty decent. ITS THE FUCKING COACHING THAT DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO USE THE TALENT.
Example, put PJ Dawson in another uni, he's a pro bowler.

I will say that player development has been poor at certain positions. Though Hobson keeps talking about Paul Alexander's development of tackles, he's really basing this on two or three players..... And his development of the interior line has been spotty at best. We all know about our 1st rounder to ST plan for corners..... And linebacker development is comical.

Obviously it's no secret the coaching staff is incompetent. We haven't found a single impact guy on defense since Zimmer left. Hue was able to get more out of Dalton. I'll give Gruden credit for campaigning for Dalton over Kap. Other than that...

Who has Paul Alexander ever developed? Stacy Andrews? Lol typical company PR.

Whitworth was a total gem in the 2nd round. Total luck. The coaches didn't develop shit.

There's no such thing as developing a tackle. You are either born to play tackle or you're not.
Besides, for the past 10 years our tackles have been Willie, Levi, Whit, and Andre. All high picks.
Our "project" tackles, Stacy Andrews and Andre Collins were out of the league within 1-2 years after leaving the team, because they sucked

Justin Smith was an average DE here at best. He was an all-pro DE for the niners. Ahmad Brooks and Dan Skuta were also much better for the Niners than they were here. Evan Mathis became one of the best guards in the game when left our team.

True.... And the highest ranked prospect of the group (Tits), never lived up to his potential (though he has had some nice seasons here and there).

The Bengals have been trash at drafting. We hear about how 'good' we draft in post draftday articles that mean literally nothing.

Tez and Geno do not somehow make us good at drafting. Our upper round 'contributors' have been horrible for the last 4+ years.

Did you guys see Fisher get beat like a drum yesterday? How is it possible that we selected two tackles in the top two rounds and neither of them are any good? When we made the picks I remember thinking that it was smart because at least one of them would work out and be a solid starter for the next decade.

The worst part about taking those 2 tackles was that there was a better tackle available every time they picked. La'el Collins. I don't understand why they were so willing to take a guy who wouldn't play because he was hurt but too scared to take a guy who might not play because he might be on trial/in jail.

I honestly think Collins would've been a Bengal if not for that story coming out right before the draft. They liked him all the way though the process. Shame it didn't happen.

Ogbuehi and Fisher are both turds. Total busts. Unbelievable whiff on the part of the scouting department (all 2 of them)
