Has there been a bigger first round disaster in recent memory? Dennard would be in the conversation.
Forget more than half, he hasn't played halfAnd I realize some might put Tyler Eifert on the list...... But can we really count him? Don't you actually have to play more than half the games to be counted?
I will say that player development has been poor at certain positions. Though Hobson keeps talking about Paul Alexander's development of tackles, he's really basing this on two or three players..... And his development of the interior line has been spotty at best. We all know about our 1st rounder to ST plan for corners..... And linebacker development is comical.
Obviously it's no secret the coaching staff is incompetent. We haven't found a single impact guy on defense since Zimmer left. Hue was able to get more out of Dalton. I'll give Gruden credit for campaigning for Dalton over Kap. Other than that...
Who has Paul Alexander ever developed? Stacy Andrews? Lol typical company PR.
Whitworth was a total gem in the 2nd round. Total luck. The coaches didn't develop shit.
There's no such thing as developing a tackle. You are either born to play tackle or you're not.
Besides, for the past 10 years our tackles have been Willie, Levi, Whit, and Andre. All high picks.
Our "project" tackles, Stacy Andrews and Andre Collins were out of the league within 1-2 years after leaving the team, because they sucked
I'm sick of hearing how great the Bengals are at drafting. They got lucky one year with Green and Dalton. Just like the Cowboys this year with Zeke and Dak.
After that it's been a bunch of duds like Dennard, Hunt, Will Clarke, Ogbuehi, Fisher, PJ Dawson...the list goes on.
The best player the Bengals have found since the 2011 draft is Tez. And he wasn't drafted.
