Thoughts on Bills cutting Drayton Florence - NFL Nation Blog - ESPN

Obviously, the Front Office has confidence in either Culliver or Cox playing on the other side of Rogers since they didn't draft a corner, but could picking up Florence be a good move? I wouldn't do anything more than a one-year contract (or two with the expectation of cutting him next year), but if he was expected to make $4 mil, could he be had for 2? Some veteran depth in the secondary could be very helpful next season.

don't forget about Brown. he really came on last year. Between Cully, Carlos, and Brown we have 3 solid CBs. If Cox plays up to expectations we will have one of the better CB units in the league. Brock is not there yet but he shows a little promise too.

Good point. I forgot about Tarell because I never thought he would develop into the player he started to become in the middle of last season. If his trajectory is still pointing up and, as you stated, Cox hasn't lost it with his "time off," there is no need to invest in another CB. That $2-3 mil can be better spent elsewhere.

we could always use quality CB's including depth, but are you thinking any of it is guaranteed money? if no guarantees, then fine.

if it is with guarantees, looks a little tough right now without first seeing what we've got? what progress has Brock, Culliver, Cox (after a year off), and even Holcomb have made? don't we have a few UDFA's to try out?

think we'll go thru OTA, TC, and even a pre-season or two with what we have now? then see whats available during cut downs, IF we need to upgrade depth?
