The sad thing is people don't realize how this is hurting the team in the long run. Just about everyone - except Hobsin and Crash - sees that this team is going nowhere in the playoffs, assuming they even make it (we'd be able to thank all the crappy teams around us, not ourselves).

The ramifications?

1) Lewis buys himself even more time.
2) Worse draft pick.
3) Slightly harder schedule next season.

Number 1 is the big one. The remaining schedule isn't difficult by any means, but they're all games that we could easily lose, and I hope we do lose out the rest of the season. In fact, I hope the team implodes. That is the only way Marvin doesn't get another extension. I'm willing to take a step back in order to take a couple forward.

But then again, I'm not a real fan.

That is not not correct. I still think we miss the playoffs. I still think we have too many holes in our defense especially at LB and S to help us. I still think we are poorly coached. The Giants were 6-3. They beat 6 other teams, but not us.
The Chiefs were 1-8. They beat 1 other team, but not us.
The Raiders were 3-7. They beat 3 other teams, but not us.

93-29 is how much we have outscored those three teams by.

You can enjoy this a little more by saying somethign good about a couple aspects of the team can't you? How about saying something good about one part of the team that is playing better these past few weeks than in previous weeks, like for example, our secondary?

He would given Marvin a 5 year extension after a 2-14 season if Marvin agrees to be Mike Browns minion and yes man, so the need for us to lsoe is meaningless.

You can continue to root for 2-14 seasons, with coaching turnovers (because there is no guarantee Mike Brown would know how to hire the right coach anyways), and can root for your favorite team to fold, to have no future. Do you think these guys do not have enough pride to try and win games? That tghe millions being paid to these guys is not enough to make them give their best?

So what, we go 9-7 in back to back years, and for the first time in 20+ years we have back to back winning seasons even though year one was 1 and done in teh playoffs, the second year was not quite good enough to make the playoffs. Are we really over achieving, or are we finally starting to fulfill some of that potential in this very very young team? Is winning seasons in back to back years really that bad for you.

The secondary sucks. Lucky for them the Raiders don't have any receivers to exploit them or an o-line that can hold their QB up long enough to do so. Maualuga still sucks, but again, same story as the sad secondary. No need to sugar coat it.

When I actually see improvement, then I'll give credit. Playing better against crappy receivers than you did against better receivers is not improvement. Making fewer silly mistakes because there are fewer silly mistakes to be made is not improvement.

All I care about are wins, not how we got them, or who we played, but that we actually got them.

There is no long term solution to this mess with Mike Brown running this organization, because you can't trust him to always make the right decision personnell wise, so hoping Lewis gets fired only sets us up to have Bresnahan to get hired as our next head coach.

There are no guarantees with Mike Brown, whether it be the #1 pick, or a new coaching decision. So to hope for a possible worse situation is fucking pathetic. Just root for the team you have, because you are not party of this team either and the thing that should be most important to you as a fan, and the only thing you should care about is wins. If that is not the case, you are not a fan, plain and simple. I don't care how you want to spin that shit.
