Honestly I'm more muscular than Carson in that pic...and that's not saying much. He looks like he's some schlep closing on a house in the burbs.

That isn't a reason to thank Palmer? The Bengals are getting some good picks but that still doesn't give the fans a reason to "thank" Palmer.

I'm giving all thanks to Mike Brown. Mike Brown worked this like a goddamn pro. He knew all along he was willing to trade Palmer, but by saying he wasn't going to trade him he upped that potential price....the perfect storm hit....BOOM. It was genius.

obviously his not being a member of the Striped nation has weighed heavily on Palmer. He has aged 10 years, he looks every bit of 41 and is a guant shell of his former self. Hopfully he is a little quicker because someone is going to snap his a** in two.

If that were going to happen, it would have happened when he shared a locker with Ced Benson.

Wrong as usual.

Granted likely no team would have offered what Oakland did, but Brown did not even attempt to play Oakland's offer (who knows what it began at) off of Seattle, Miami, or any other team. Yeah, shrewd businessman he is ([\sarcasm].

NFL.com news: League GMs surprised by Bengals' bounty in Palmer deal

Any other team, coach, etc, and Brown would have reneged like he's always done to this point.

"Had it not been for this exact timing, and this specific situation with Hue Jackson, I don't think there's a chance Brown budges on Palmer's status. If you don't believe me, just ask the Miami Dolphins." - Jeff Darlington of NFL.com

The only thing Brown has shown here is "family" ties are the only thing more important to him than his own ego.

To further dispel any notion Brown had any of this in mind or that this was a brilliant ploy:

Per the Carson insider (proven to be very accurate) many months ago:

"as far as Palmer's value he said there was a "rumour" Carrol and the Seahwaks offered a 1st, 3rd and a player but were told the Raiders had a better offer on the table.. that was a long time ago though.."

The Raiders apparently had offered what seems to add up to a very similar deal over the offseason.
