Well if that is really the case, you can figure RG3 wont be cut until the last hour and if they can work out a deal to move him, they have the room to Sign Cousins AND still make a move. Stuffs will be interesting.

Nobody is trading for Griff with that contract. And I'm thinking the union will not allow him to re-work a cheaper deal as it sets a dangerous precedent.

The only way it could happen is if the skins agree to eat a portion of the contract this year and that makes no sense. Just release him already.

It would set no less dangerous a precedent that a guy working out a long term deal to lower his cap hit. If Griffin would have worked out and started last year and actually done well, the Skins would have worked on extending him to lower that cap number. Any team that would trade for him will likely only do it if Griffin has agreed to rework that deal, likely including an extension of some sort and lowering his cap number.

While I agree the odds are less than slim we deal him, as we dont actually need his cap space in order to resign Kirk, and can make space else where if there are any deals we need to do before the 9th... Griffin wont get cut until the last possible second assuming they really have no choice but to cut him.
