Will Hyde be productive at some point this season or will Gore hold him off.

SF is an awesome running team and Kendell Hunter just went down (sadly) and Lattimore is not where the Niners want him so the number 2 rb job is pretty much all hyde's.

Is he worth a late round pick in redraft leagues.

Also is Hyde the second best RB behind Sankey or do you have him higher than Sankey. Talking fantasy points not talent per say!

Sankey has to be higher right now just because he will be the #1 RB, Hyde is talented but will be behind Gore at least for this year w/o injuries playing a part

I like Andre williams, Sankey, West, sims, mason, Mckinnon all better than hyde... Although Hyde Looks like the best rookie for the long term...

McKinnon is my pick this season to be the best backup RB...

Well I did draft him in the Suicide League and did post an awesome picture of him in a sleeper thread............about a month ago.

Sankey is no sure thing as a number 1. Don't be shocked if he is in a timeshare or even play back up once the season starts.

Hyde and West are equally intriguing to me right now. I think they slot behind Sankey as most likely to make a large impact this year.

Back up the hype train on Sankey, but you all know that's how I feel...

As for Hyde, yeah, I'm in.. he was always a late round pick, IMO. Now he's mid round material I would say. Definitely drafting him as Gore's handcuff. If I don't own Gore, I can't say right now... depends what round we're talking and who is on the board.

Thinking about it more, if you look at the vets Gore, Tate, SJAX and Greene... I gotta go with SJAX as Least Likely To Make It Through The Season, with Tate as a close second.

So from that perspective I think West and Freeman are probably the best bets. As mentioned above, I think the Sankey "opportunity" might be overstated. Sankey won't fall to where I'd take him.

Thing is, I (and many others) have been saying Gore is about done for the last 3 years (hell, I drafted him in 3 leagues last year and was happy to get him where I did) but being that was the first time I ever owned him I watched him a lot...............unless there is some kind of miracle drug (that he can get away with) I would have to say his burst is pretty much gone.............this is pretty funny though: the reason I drafted him last year (besides the 3rd and 4th round price)? I was sick and tired of him kicking my ass every time I faced him! I honestly have to say after that long run against the Seahawks last year I think he may be done (did you ever think he would get ran down like that?).

Oh, Hyde. Dude's not a blazer and isn't going to hit too many HR's for ya (hell, he may not do shit this year as that Gore guy is still around) but he will hit the holes hard and has really good hands out of the backfield (Bucks used him a lot out of the backfield)..................

the vikings... He is Adrian peterson's backup...

I dont think mckinnon can handle the number one RB if AP goes down, but i think he will be a great backup RB... Great change of pace, and I think he will be good in the passing game...

For this season and this season alone i like Mckinnon more than hyde...

I think Hyde's stock went up with Kendall Hunter's ACL tear. But I agree with Sam. The "experts" have been talking about Gore's demise for at least 3 seasons. There's no quit in the guy.

As far as Hyde's value compared to Sankey: Hard to rank Hyde before Sankey. I've heard reports that the Titans may use a timeshare with Greene and Jackie Battle, which doesn't really boost my confidence that the Titans trust Sankey. If teams start trimming rosters and the Titans don't add another RB, I may boost Sankey's value a little.

As a 49er fan who follows the team, I wouldn't expect much of anything from Hyde unless Gore gets hurt. Every year, the 49ers say they want Gore to carry the ball less, but he actually carried to ball alot last year, as much as the 2011 year. Some people who posted here are correct in observing that Gore has lost a step. He clearly has but that doesn't necessarily mean more carries for Hyde. The 49ers are hoping to exercise Lattimore soon and if Lattimore turns out okay it will be a crowded backfield and little fantasy value for Hyde. The injury to Kendall Hunter could mean more carries for LMJ.

Dislocated elbow doesn't sound like a good thing for a RB that returns kicks. SF went from 5 RBs to 2 awfully fast this past month. Really need Lattimore to get healthy now.

James is supposed to be back by the start of the season. They just picked up someone from Arizonza. I dont know much about him. . I guess I am skeptical because I drafted Kendall Hunter once thinking he could get me something filling in for Gore and it was a bust
