We've already known since last year's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) 2016 that Brie Larson would be Captain Marvel:

Still no trailer yet, but now more major news from SDCC 2017:

- Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury will be the secondary hero, and he will have both eyes intact...

- ...because it will be set in the 1990s!

- ...and the main villains will be the Skrulls!

I read the whole thing digitally not too long ago to get ready for the movies. It's an older plotline, and yeah different becuz it's a male character. But I believe this new entry in the MCU can be a success in much the same way Guardians of the Galaxy took everyone by surprise.

That's right, except that Infinity War is before, not after, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Also, we've already got Spidey 2's release date. So:

Naw, Spidey 2 is definitely in the MCU. It's just the Sony spinoffs -- Venom and Silver & Black -- whose canonicity is still up in the air. Apparently, Sony wants them to be part of the MCU to give the films a boost through cross-promotion, but Disney has doubts about the films and doesn't want the MCU dragged down by potentially bad films, so for now, the Sony spinoff films are of ambiguous canonicity pending negotiations between the two studios and whether the films are successful at the box office.

But it's a definitely first watch on netflix.

But with Brie Larson already making excuses for performance I'm defining in the waning stages of excitement.
