Not a bad move IMO. He is pretty steady.

No problem, Boss, all are welcome to contribute - I know Oilers fans were very glad to see Tom Poti leave town, but I'd take Poti over Cory Sarich (and he makes less money as well).

Poti is alright. Not crazy about the price, but it won't kill us. Last year in the playoffs, he was the 2nd or 3rd best D-man behind Carlson and maybe Schultz. He is consistent at the very least, and he won't kill us on the D, something you can't say about all our D-men.

This does not bode well for playoff success. When you put it that that way, YIKES!!!

Carlson and Schultz are going to be very good, but they shouldn't be leading the playoff charge for the Caps D for another couple of years yet.

The whole Defense is young minus Poti. The oldest D-man other than Poti is Mike Green at 24 (or Tyler Sloan at 29, but he splits time in DC and Hershey), so someone has to be playing beter than the rest....

Hey.. I realize that but Carlson was playing in the WJHC this year. Shultz is a great shutdown guy, but the Caps won't win anything by playing shutdown hockey.

Mike Green needs to be the Caps best D-man, or at the very least in your top 2, for that team to achieve true success in the playoffs.
