Cappa's pass block grade last year was 39.7
He won the triple crown of bad blocking...was the worst rated IOL at win rate, sacks allowed, pressures allowed...or something like that.

Hard to remember, but that 1st year, he was really good...until he got hurt. Looks like maybe he just never could quite rebound fully from that, as he never got back to that level.

I think they will look to sign 1 IOL and draft early 1 IOL...

I've also bantered about looking at Lee for C, and looking at Karras at guard..if nothing else, it gives you more flexibility in case of injury.

I am sure that this didn't help Mims out at all.

I liked Cappa. He was a good signing at the time. He was never a great athlete which limited his upside, but he was a good pro, played hurt, and gave a lot to the team. I agree that he never seemed to recover from the leg injury and at this point in his career he can't go play a for a pass-first team.

All that said - He was awful last year, and just about anything aside from Jackson Carmen, Quinton Spain, Isaiah Prince, Michael Jordan, or Cordell Volson would be an upgrade..... Then again, we seem to have some trouble identifying guys that don't completely suck.

Came here to ask about Cappa... but it appears everyone's posts in here says everything I wanted to know about him.

I see you mention Daniels in the OP so I thought I'd share my thoughts on him. To be honest I was a little shocked the Steelers were so quick to say they had no interest in resigning him this offseason. That may speak to his injury he sustained last season & them not feeling confident in his return. He was a formidable starter when healthy. One of the highest graded OL they had the past couple years. I thought he would be a valuable piece if he was healthy. Steelers found a decent gem with rookie McCormick, but he's still developing & they are lacking depth at the moment. With Seumalu getting long in the tooth, and not playing as well, they really don't have much security at the Guard position.

If Daniels is healthy, I think he is absolutely worth picking up. He's a solid starter. Grades out better in run than pass, but he wasn't giving up much pressure inside. Most Pgh insiders believe he's going to find a decent contract in FA. And that might have more to do with why the Steelers didn't want to resign him.

I worry about Becton. Great year this year for him, but the rest of his career has been a miss. Is he going to go back to his former self after getting a deal?

I worry about Mekari simply because he is a Raven and I'm afraid he'll be like Stone - Good for that squad but subpar elsewhere.

I like Zeitler, but damn he's getting old. I'd definitely consider him if we planned to pair him with a decent draft pick.

The rest of the guys I know by name but couldn't tell you the first thing about how good they are or are not.
