I have broken a few fingers and both hands twice. The radiologist kind of laughed about the state of my hand when looking at the x ray. This is the tip. One piece at the base is broke off and displaced while the othe half of the tip appears to be in pieces but all still in the right spots. I see a surgeon on wednesay.

I did the same thing but I was carrying the ball and straight-armed a guy. My pinky caught somewhere in his mask/helmet. Compound fracture. The top two joints of my finger were pretty much just hanging by some skin. OUCH.

It hurt like a fucker during the healing process too.

Seriously, that sucks. Especially since you'll still feel the pain/weakness for awhile - hands just take forever to heal and never seem to fully. Mine have all been fractures in the tip, except the one time I caught off about half of the last segment of my 4th finger. The plastic surgeon did a money job sewing it back on though.

Don't play b'ball for awhile. It'll sting ya!
