cap casualties ?

here are some guys who could be cap casualties

trent williams , no we arent cutting him but what i would like to point out is isnt it great that our highest cap number is a PB player we drafted instead of a bust FA ?

deangelo hall cutting hall would save 4 mil in cap space while only adding 1 mil in dead space it would depend on halls health , amerson and breelands play but there is a legit savings

stieger would save 3.75 mil in cap space with only a 500,000 dead space hit . now that would mean ribeye or reiter or larsen would have to step up big time but again we have 2 young guys in at Rg and RT so maybe having a vet over center is a good thing . but 3 new starters with potential isnt bad either

garcon , in the stymie advocation dept cutting garcon saves 7.5 mil with 2 mil in dead cap space . now roberts and grant and crowder would have to step up big time but again when looking to next season some tough moves will need to be made

I said it then and I'll say it now, I'm against CUTTING Pierre Garcon!! I've always been in favor of maximizing his trade value. I honestly don't believe that this team will be willing to pay the 10 million plus next season for a 30 year old #2 wideout. Unfortunately, time is running out on getting best value for him and the team will still be looking for his replacement after he completes what is essentially a one year term. They could redo his contract but that means having dead money against the cap in future years.

If we suck and have a top five pick again its most likely because of the QB. The only way I see us going LT is if

1. Trent balks and wants to hit the FA market ( quite possible if we are picking in the top five)

2. Trent is dead.
