yes, I know it's not even pre-season, it's the prospects tourney.
but i am jonesing for some hockey of any form. and this one's on TV tonight!!

If lines from #Canucks morning skate mean anything, two lines are Jensen/Archibald/Friesen and Schroeder/Sweatt/Rodin.

Keep an eye on Jensen Nucks fans.

I think you guys might have got a steal at 29th overall.

NHL size, sweet hands and a stride that COULD turn him into a good skater at the pro level.

lol...

Jay Onrait
Jets rookie Jeremy Kerley is listed at 5'9" but looks much shorter than that. #shortandkerley

Pass it to Bulis
Hate to act twelve, but the Sharks have a guy named Cheek playing on a line with a guy named Moon. *snicker*

surprisingly*, the Nucks are carrying the play.
Honzig (Nucks goalie) let in a stinker from the sideboards, while Roy has made a couple of very good saves already.
Honzig just made up for it with a monster save from the slot.
Kevin Connauton has been strong, made a heck of a solo rush, too. Sauve looks good, too.
Grenier has shown some good wheels so far. Archibald bashed in a sweet cross-crease pass by Jensen for our goal

pretty sloppy, but entertaining. 1-1 after 20 min.

* Edm first picks in the last 3 drafts: 1,1,10
Van last 3 years' picks 29, 114, 22

- Edm's small, speedy forwards starting to get their legs moving int he 2nd.
- 2-1 on a very sloppy change. was basically a 3 on 1.
- then a PP goal (Lander walked out fromt he corner all alone),
- and then Honzik let in an unscreened wrister from 58 feet...... note to self: Honzik is not ready.
- while I am mostly watching players more than cheering for a team, it concerns me that the baby-nucks also have the same "brain-dead for a costly minute" tendency
- also, the PK needs work. Lander with his 2nd PP goal of the period.
- holy haymakers, batman! Hannay vs. Abney. close enough to a draw. strong start by Abney make have won on points.
- Honzik also can't play the puck :L if you are going to turn it over, let it not be to RNH. Honzik gets the Hookzik.
- new goalie(St Laurent) = same result. rebound from the corner goes right out in front. 7-1 now.

- Sebastien Erixson has been creating opportunities pretty well, too.
- I am seeing Steven Anthony getting outhustled far too often.
- Prab Rai is still invisible. unfortunately so is Jordan Schroeder

Honzik gets the Hookzik.

I regret that. I should have said Honzik is Gone-zik. or even Hon-zoinks!
Canucks came out in their skate guards that period... shots through 2 are 27-12 after a fairly even 1st.

Craig MacT had better crack some skulls in the intermission.
(and not by running them over after he has been drinking)

- Sweatt-Schroeder-Rodin finally had a very good cycling shift. nothing to show for it, though.
- I like Archibald's hustle this period, too.
- Olivier Roy with a couple more great saves. Nucks should have probably had about 4 by now.
- just to reiterate, I am not very impressed with Steven Anthony. he finally wins a battle (b/c the other guy dropped his stick), and then fluffs on a pass into the slot.
- Connauton sure isn't afraid to jump up into the play. reminds me of Bieksa a bit (better skater though).
- Schroeder with some quick hands on a rebound gives the fans something to cheer about. Archibald w/ the assist. 7-2 final. got the first one and the last one.

somewhat entertaining game except for whatever that garbage was in the 2nd period.
I didn't see any stars in the making on the Nucks, but Connauton stood out for me (on the plus side)

Flames - Nucks on TV tomorrow.

I have a question for all of you. Are your teams College prospects playing in these games? The Islanders play the Bruins tomorrow, but guys like Brock Nelson, Scott Mayfield, Anders Lee & others aren't playing.

I heard the Islanders were suiting up their tough guys as they don't want to be pushed around anymore

Very funny. They did just sign two tough guys to PTO's & one to an ATO though. Strome, Kabanov, Nino, De Haan. Donovan, will be their. So it won't all be about kicking the Bruins ass. They'll try to score too.:D: BTW I'll make a bold prediction. Strome probably won't make the team this year, but he's going to be an outstanding player.
