ooooh.... Ballard just killed Wallin with a good old-fashioned hip check
that's the first good thing I've seen Ballard do as a Canuck.

from todays paper and Ill add 2 words to the front of the story in bold

BEFORE TODAY If you google Keith Ballard and hip, you’ll come across dozens of stories and YouTube clips of the defenceman sending opponents head over heels — and often having to drop his gloves immediately afterward.

What you don’t find are stories about hip surgery he had in May in Vail, Colo., a procedure that required two months of putting no weight on the joint, a procedure that might explain the poor pre-season Ballard’s undergoing.

how the heck did the media here not know about this???

he's been solid, not outstanding. Masie is stealing the show on that line.
There was one powerplay shift in the 2nd where Hodgson had a really strong forecheck. hustled and stole the puck a couple of times. Led to some good possession time.
His skating is not as effortless as i remember from Jr. that could be psychosomatic on my part though.

the radio guys were saying pregame that Schneider has been slower to take to Melansons stay-deeper-in-the-net philosophy than Luongo but he has looked good doing it this 3rd period so far

Sedin Sedin Kesler out first on the last PP ... interesting

they were saying that was probably going to be the first unit when the real show begins.

Schneider has been good all game.
he got cold just standing there in the 2nd (shots were 10-0 at one point)

Bieksa started out solid, but has overskated the puck a couple of times in the 2nd half.
Hodgson down to line 4 now.

kurtenbloggers wrote that they were working as a trio in practice this week but who have been unit 2 tonight

that last pp looked like they had Raymond, Torres, Samuellson at the point with Bieksa down low??? or was that just a line jumble/blender clusterfuck

it's been all over the map. Tamby has had some time, Hodgson, Malhotra, even Hansen.
Sammy, Torres and Raymond have been the most regular on that unit, I think
(thought Sammy's goal was with the Sedins)

..... Andrew Alberts leading the rush?????? whoa.

as he pushed forward, he had more speed going up the boards than Hodgson had in open ice right next to him :L

yeah, nice move. he never should have made it out of that corner with all of his parts attached.
SJ penalty kill is sure leaving a lane across the middle. Sedins can feat on that if it stays open.
also, funny to hear Masie Raymond call someone 'kid'.

Sharks don't seem that interested tonight so far.

That's not surprising. ;)

maybe they are saving it up for the home half.

Eddie Lack gets the start for the Nucks tonight.
he was phenomenal in the prospects tourney.
it will be good to see him against NHL shooters.

Sharks PP in the preseason is sitting at 0 for 27.

Ferraro doesnt think so ... tomorrow the sharks fly out to Europe and he thinks the players minds will be 100% elsewhere

Lack has got nearly every media guy in this town on his side with his "aww shucks" personality ... if he wasnt already known as "the stork", reporters might have tagged him "Smilin' Lack"... he was talking about hoping that theres a big crowd in San Jose so he can break his record for number of fans he's ever played in front of in a game (lol)

That's Flames-esque :L

I can't find preseason PP stats, but my source for that (story on Canucks.com) ranked the Sharks PP as only 29th.... so there's someone out there with an even worse 0-fer
