Can we IR Thompson?

Can we put Thompson on IR? It would free up a roster spot which should be Jamison. The backs would be Morris, Helu, and Jamison. With Royster being cut. Is this possible.

Any injured player could go on IR. But he won't go on IR if he's not injured. They are going to have to weigh who goes on the practice squad and who gets cut by seeing how the preseason schedule goes. They probably want Thompson to make the final 53 if he can show he's healthy by the end of August.

IMO, fact is, if he is healthy come end of camp, hes gonna be on the team. Why would they cut a 5th round pick who can add so much to the offense?

You PS Jamison, develop him as an insurance policy for Thompson if he doesnt pan out.

right now you can IR him if the injury is still flaring up . now we still have 4 preseason games to make that decision so we dont need to rush it

but yes he can go on IR or the pup

I don't think they IR him unless they have to. They think he can be a weapon. But if he isn't healthy, sure.

well right now , subject to change , he isnt healthy . now we have like 5 weeks to go

As long as Helu is healthy and playing well, it is very likely that he will end up on IR/PUP/PS.

I don't agree. Thompson's fate this year has more to do with his own health and performance than Helu's.
