Can DeRosa stay healthy?

The guy is on fire the first week of spring training. dude hit a bomb today and looks like he is getting ready to make up for last year's lost season.

I am not expecting a .290 batting average, 25 bombs and 100 RBIs. But I think that if this guy can hit .270, jack 15-20 home runs and drive in 80 runs, he would be a HUGE asset to the team.

Besides, it's amazing how much my attitude has changed since watching my team finally win a World Series. When the Giants signed DuhRosa, I HATED the signing and thought it showed exactly why Sabean needs to be fired. Now, I look at the guy and just want him to contribute some how, some way to keep the team winning. Positive thoughts.

I think your hope for MDR is pretty optimistic. Most projections have him in the 255/330/410 range with 12 bombs and 55 RBI. Those numbers look about right to me, as he won't be playing every day.

If he lives up to projections, he'll be worth the $6MM he's getting.

I wouldn't mind seeing a line of this:

.275BA, 13HR's, 54RBI's or so with a .333OBP.

I think the only way his power numbers go up would be if he played everyday (although his average would probably dip under .275 with everyday wear and tear imhumbleo). Otherwise, I'd love to see something like the above.

EDIT: But yeah, winning the WS Championship has definitely made my outlook much more positive
