The loser point and occasional 3-point games really does screw things up, doesn't it. I'd rather go back to ties.

semantics ... youve gone from 4 - 4 - 2 being "no where near 500" to "below average pace"

i dont recall saying 500 is a pace teams want to be at or one that will get a team into the playoffs

Now you are just being petty.

I said "there is nothing .500 about 4-4-2", essentially saying 4-4-2 is not .500. I didn't say it was "nowhere near .500". I also never said that you said .500 should get you into the playoffs- BUT when 16/30 NHL teams make the playoffs its a fair point to note that .500 will not make the playoffs.

At the end of the day its a fairly trivial argument, but 4-4-2 is below .500, as is 35-30-7.

God speed Calgary. Is it wrong that I'd really enjoy seeing a miracle and Chicago out of the playoffs? It'd just give me a chuckle. Man, I really dislike Patty Cakes.

Good, we're all in agreement then! Until our resident stache shows up and ruins our party that is :)

I don't care who the Ducks play in round 1 as long as they make the playoffs. I honestly don't think many teams ahead of them would be looking forward to a series against them though.

you are right there.
i think Vancouver can beat them, but they would be pretty damned bruised on the way out.

That's cool...Things would be pretty boring around here if everybody was in agreement all the time.

Haha I was joking, I have nothing against Calgary. I just figured I disagree with everybody about everything else, so, hey, why not here.

Id rather see Calgary in than Nashville or Dallas. I dont mind Chicago, dont know why.

BMo update - Doesn't look like he'll be back this season (unless Calgary makes the playoffs) and says he'd like to come back for another season in Calgary.

The 35-year-old has a knee brace in his possession and went for a spin a simple "public skate" that involved no sudden stops or turns. "I tested for a couple minutes with a forward skate," he said. "Really gingerly. It felt good, actually. As the week progresses, we might be able to test it a little bit more. "There's still some swelling in the knee that we have to clean up -try and let it settle down even more. We've been doing a lot of rehab off the ice, and there's been positive progress that way.

But how much progress? Acting GM Jay Feaster said last week it's looking improbable, at best, for Morrison to return during the regular season. "I think Jay was accurate in that," Morrison said. "I mean, there's a slight chance. We're doing everything we can to see if it's possible for me to come back. But like everything, there's never enough time. We just don't have enough time right now."

Does he want to return for another year? "I've really enjoyed my time here," said Morrison, who is eligible for free agency July 1. "I really like the group of guys and the organization. I really hope things work out. Time will tell. But I think the team knows I like it here, and I would like to be back."
