Nope, still have to wonder what the Bills might want. And we have no idea how the secondary will be yet. Right now Spikes is a pretty nice piece of the front 7, if the front 7 can apply pressure like they had been in preseason I would not want to break that up. Up front pressure takes a lot of pressure of the secondary.

There was no language in this years Franchise Tag preventing them from using it again next so if they can not come to a long term deal they could still franchise him and trade him.

I dont see the Bills willingly trading one of the best safeties in the NFL to a division rival without that team giving up a lot.

If I was SF I would give up my first next year for him, maybe throw in a 3rd or 4th too. Kid's got crazy range and playmaking ability. A centerfielder like that in a physical defense is a must.

Trade for Byrd, drop Whitner, move Reid to SS, done.

All good points. Just fun to see what others think. I don't see it happen.

I can't see any team making a significant offer for a player who's been suffering from this sort injury for at least a year. Clearly he still can't practice and play at 100%. I wouldn't sign a FA to a big money deal in those circumstances. I certainly wouldn't make a big trade for such a player. S isn't even a high profile difference making position. The Chiefs couldn't get a 2nd round pick for a healthy franchise tag LT. The Bills can tag him again next year at 120% salary...if they want to. If they don't they may be entitled to a compensatory pick in 2015, which would likely be at the end of the 3rd round. This would depend on what other moves the team made. If they made some big moves they might get nothing for him.

Even if he was fully healthy and working hard in camp I doubt the Bills would get a trade they liked. The Bills could have dealt with this situation a long time ago.

I'd consider a mid-high draft pick for him if the trade was contingent on a new deal (say, a 2nd rounder). I would not give up a quality starter for him. I would not give up a 1st round pick for him - his injury history is too big a risk. And I wouldn't trade higher than, say, a 4th and 6th for him without a contingency for a new deal.
