I don't have big issues with Walt. I feel like he was handcuffed by Dusty. Regardless of who Walt got for our roster, Dusty would hit them L, R, L, R, L, R....

I would have liked to see Walt be a little more stern concerning the Chapman as a starter situation. Here's to hoping the new coaching staff can actually use the talent we have on the roster.

Well, the best player is gone (Choo).

We have exactly 3 talented players on offense and all seem to choke when it matters. I'm not sure the team is as talented as you think.

We have pretty good starting pitching..... Unless we're playing good teams or need a solid start in a big game.

We're probably an 80-95 win, one and done team for the foreseeable future. Who-Dey!

I think we have solid pitching and plenty of potential on hitting if coached properly. I do have issues with Votto hitting 3rd and taking so many walks. We need 3-4 holes to drive in runs. And if he is not willing to drive borderline pitches then move him to the #2 spot. Are we really paying him $20 million/year to take so many walks and have sub-100 RBIs?

And we need to make some decisions on 3rd base, SS and catcher. Again, I wonder if we need to upgrade the hitting coach or these guys are never going to hit over .220 a season.

The hitting with RISP is awful and must be addressed.

To me, when Dusty hit Ludwick #2, his career ended in Cincinnati.

Brook Jacoby is more important to get off the staff than Dusty, imo.

Agreed. Absolutely no adjustments at the plate were made during Pirates game. Ridiculous.

"It hurts. It hurts big-time," Baker said. "It's a double whammy being swept out of the playoffs, and two days later this."

It wasn't all about one conversation, of course. Baker quite likely started to sense that maybe his time was up in Cincinnati. Maybe that's why he said what he said.

"The last couple weeks, I've been getting a rash of hate mail, racial mail,'' he said. "Maybe it is time to go."

"This is really ugly," he said. "There are all sorts of references to Barack Obama. So now I know where they are coming from. I don't know, maybe people are mad at him, so they don't like the idea of blacks in authority."

This article is a disgrace. If he was purple, pink or orange, his ass needed to be fired. And take Jacoby with you.

Ohio is a republican stronghold. I'm going to have to backdoor my way in. I'll try to get in through Marietta.

I was watching PTI the other day and they were discussing whether or not the Dusty firing was justified...and for the most part they were saying no it wasn't. I just sat there staring at the screen shocked. I'm wandering if they ever actually watched the Reds.

Their main argument boiled down to: "Yeah, he got knocked out of the playoffs early every time, but it's hard to make it to the playoffs in the MLB, so at least he was getting them there!". What the hell every happened to "JUST WIN, BABY!"? "WE PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!"? This is like little league all over...everybody gets a trophy. This is the same reason Marvin Lewis still has a job. I can't stand this shit.

finding a manager for the reds is like finding a prom date. You start out asking the sexiest girl in school to go, who leads you on for a week or two before telling you that your out of your mind, and you end up taking your second cousin and just trying to make it work.

I think the Davey Johnson years were our 'cougar' years.... He'd already been around the block and fairly used up, but he still held a lot of appeal in the baseball world.
