The game meant nothing, and it was Siebert's turn anyways. So instead of just booting a 45 to 50 yard FG with Siebert, they opted to go for it since a tie means nothing. See what your bubble guys can do in this situation when the game is on the line. All in all, the decision meant nothing, especially since McPherson wasn't getting to kick.Another issue with yesterday's game - going for 2 late.
I just don't really get it because if the other team scores, then you are only down 1. Two if they go for 2pt conversion, which would be unlikely since it wouldn't have done anything to prevent a FG from winning the game.
Then, they could have had a real live practice scenario of the rookie K lining up to win a game.
This kind of head scratching decision has been all to common under the current staff, and previous, but not limited to just the Bengals. Coaches work really hard to be the smartest person in the room, and usually fail at this task for some reason.
