My prediction if he signs with the O's:

10-14
4.78 ERA
1.34 WHIP

And that might be generous in the AL East...

Well, they're saying over at MLB Trade Rumors that we won't be getting Burnett. Apparently, he wants to pitch in the NL.

They're also saying that we won't be getting Arroyo either. For him, it looks like either Arizona or LA.

Same thing it seems like they always do. Wait and wait and wait and then another team signs the guy and then make some excuse as to why they didn't land him.

I don't think the 16 is too crazy for Burnett. O's could have afforded that. oh well, looks like we'll just have to hope Britton has learned how to pitch.:noidea:

$16M for one year? No thanks! I wanted someone like A.J. for a year with a club option for year 2 but not at that kind of dough...

The amount is crazy because of your own point. Yes, they COULD afford it, but we all know that they would never give him that kinda money.

Even if they did offer him that type of money, would he be able to pass the physical?

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to a contract with Korean right-hander Suk-min Yoon, a baseball source confirmed to ESPN's Jim Bowden.
Yoon's deal is for three years and $5.725 million, the source said. His contract also contains performance bonuses based on games started.
Yoon had tweeted a picture of himself in an Orioles cap earlier this week, prompting speculation that he would join Baltimore.

Glad to see we added a veteran FA pitcher like DD said. What a joke our front office has become. Nothing like adding another 4-5 pitcher to our rotation.

So what would you have paid him? 14mm? 13.5MM? What's the difference? Maybe with him we make the playoffs, and without him we don't? What's the cost then? All of a sudden people are concerned with protecting Peter A.'s money.

Sounds like we are still in on Santana and Jimenez, in that order.

You're completely missing the point. The ORIOLES would never have spent that money on Burnett, so given he got what he got, it aint a big loss. And I don't think there is a person on here that in any way shape or form is apologetic for Angelos...

Not missing the point at all, bro. Just saying it ain't my money. Spend it on a good pitcher I think will help us get a championship. I just want to win!

Of course it would get us closer, but unfortunately that isn't how this team works. Whether they don't want to spend the money (which I think we all know) or big FAs don't wanna come here (unless we overpay for them), it's all very frustrating. And I really hope that Suk-Min Yoon isn't the "veteran" pitcher DD was talking about...
