How do the libel/slander laws work in Canada?

With very few exceptions, the "public figure" standard applies in the US which would make something like this extremely unlikely to happen from a legal perspective. Burke would undoubtedly qualify as a public figure and would not be subject to the same legal standards as your average Joe.
