get your hopes up in a Bengals player, and our collective conscience is veritably putting a dark curse on that person, if he's lucky he'll just get his leg snapped out from under him ki-jana-carter style or Carson Palmer style

worst case scenario he ends up dead or paralyzed for life...

there's some serious kharma going on around here.

I agree with Dan. Going back to 2004 who were we truly excited about and what did they accomplish here?

Palmer - knee fucked, never the same.
Henry - knee in '05, off field problems, gets his act together finally RIP
Thurman - one great year, never to be heard from again
Geno - knee fucked, TBD
Burfect - head ducked, knee ticked, TBD

There's a few more. I'd say that to a lesser extent maybe Pollack and Perry showed flashes in the brief time they were healthy. Hell, Kenny Irons looked like the best player on the field through the first few weeks of training camp until his knee got fucked up on the same field that Carter's did.

This team seems to be cursed at middle linebacker

We had Steve Tovar...... He was good.

If you define good as being a former Buckeye.

I've been saying it for 3 months gents. Burfict is done. No need to worry about him coming back. The Bengals need to be scouting LBs in the upcoming draft. Or God forbid, look at a potential starter in free agency(lol)

We might as well prepare for another CB pick that won't play for 3 years though. Marvin needs his warriors on special teams. If you don't get your punt gunners, protectors, and wedge busters in the 1st round, you're just shit out of luck.

That doesn't mean you were good, just that you're a can't-miss prospect even if you've only started 3 games in a run-heavy college offense.

He would have been drafted by someone for sure.

I'm glad he's going back to college though, that insanity needed to stop.

I know he would've been drafted, but the insane statements made by OSU homers on this board were ridiculous. And insanity is the exact word to describe the notion that the kid was ready for the NFL. There's a reason he was the third string QB on his own college team.

Yeah, there's 3 Heisman candidate QB's on the same team. Don't be mad Ohio State gets all the players.

I know, but the media personnel weren't helping either.
