We had a chance to take the series, but tzill screwed it up by posting the GDT. We needed pachyderm to continue his late season magic.

Not a good day for Bum. More 1st inning runs! Glad the lads fought back and made it respectable.

The bullpen did a really nice job of shutting down the Red Sox too. Only three baserunners allowed by them, all by Suarez in the 8th (the first one was by an error). Really, the game was pitched well from the 3rd inning on - only 7 Red Sox got on from that point forward and none scored. Unfortunately, those first 2 innings count.

That 2nd inning was worse for Bum, in my opinion. At that point, he retired 5 batters in a row (all the damage in the first was before an out was made, then he got three outs). Those first two batters of the 2nd were retired on 8 pitches total. Then he gives up 4 singles in a row before getting that 3rd out.
