My UCLA son and I went to a game against the Cubs in May, and the stadium was about half empty. And that was when Ethier was at about 28 games in his hitting streak.

I am ambivalent about all this. I enjoy watching the Bums suffer through the McCourt catastrophe, but this proud franchise deserves better. The Giants deserve a better rival. This present Bums regime is just pathetic.

So McCourt filed for bankruptcy.... This is going to be interesting to see how Selig argues against the proposed Fox deal. I think MLB is going to lose this battle, but MCourt will probably still "lose" the war.

He's going to claim the anti-trust exemption and "best interest of baseball" clause. He'll then point out the indefensible raping of the team by the McCorts....it's going to be an interesting battle....
