Bumgarner hurt in dirt bike accident, put on DL

The San Francisco Giants placed left-handed pitcher Madison Bumgarner on the disabled list Friday with bruised ribs and a Grade 1 or 2 sprain of the AC joint in his left shoulder.

Bumgarner sustained the injuries Thursday during a dirt bike accident on the team's off day in Denver, the team announced. He is out of the hospital, currently resting at the team hotel and will be re-evaluated next week.

In four starts this season, Bumgarner is 0-3 with a 3.00 ERA.
