Nope.

a little later on in the thread, somebody said that “nobody agreed with me,” so I was pointing out that not only did others agree with me, but at least one Detroit fan did as well.

That was some Matlock-level investigative journalism right there though Breed.
Nice job.
More Columbo, homey.

I'm not sure if anything was really missed. The refs as they like to say, 'let the teams play.' all game long. Then to make that call in the waning minutes of the game and not till after Tampa Bay players started in with the hissy fits.

I'll just say I found it to be a curious call after the way the refs had called the game up to that point.

well that’s kind of my point.

you can’t ignore that one at the end of the half and then call that last one. Especially when it was uncatchable and the other was right there in the receivers hands.

Another good point. There was a few non-calls in the game where the passes were more catchable than that one at the end.

well even a few years ago with that Dee Ford play that cost kc a title
If you really pay attention and watch football games, there are guys lining up in the neutral zone on literally almost every play.

I agree about consistency, but holds don’t have to be catchable. It was called a hold, not PI. If I am wrong about that, it doesn’t really matter. Tampa Bay did not need 15 yards. They only needed the first down, which a hold would have done anyway.

I doubt anyone would argue that it was a foul by the book. Our issue was the inconsistency the rule was applied. Tampa DBs got away with holds all game long. Obvious ones, that even the chuckle-heads and the booth noticed and pointed out. And all game long, Aikman is talking about how the refs are "letting them play" and "being consistent". But then, on the biggest play of the game, suddenly defensive holding is a penalty again, on a ball that may have been uncatchable anyway.

If you want to call holding and PI, great! It probably would have benefited the Packers far more in that game if they did. But they only did on the deciding play, and that just leaves everyone feeling robbed.

Once I saw the replay and saw the guy grab his shirt with one hand, THEN SWITCH to the other hand and continue to hold the jersey, it was the right call.

Sure he flopped. Sometimes you have to do that to get the ref to do his or her job.
