There is no time like the present for Glennon. I certainly don't think he's ready to win games but losing won't be all bad. You get to see what you have in Glennon and if he fails miserably you get a high draft pick to get a QB. After you clean out the front office and replace them with some sort of competence, of course.

Glennon...When you've gone out and signed guys like, Revis, V. Jackson, and a few more I'm not mentioning...the Bucs had thoughts of winning this year. Starting a rookie QB now it appears like they are already playing for next year.

FO...The Bucs have a lot of young talent from previous drafts...it's unfortunate the QB has taken a step backwards, but he did play better under a different HC...I think the Bucs hired the wrong guy because they were hellbent on getting a more disciplinary guy after the loosey goosey Morris was let go.

Well, who's fault is it that the Bucs had thoughts of winning this year? The fans are so upset too and I ask them the same thing. What the hell did you see that made you think this would be a good team? Revis, Goldson, how did you look at that awful team last year and think you would make them a contender? I mean they had a few smoke and mirrors, horse shoe up the ass wins early but the last 6 games were the pathetic truth. The team was more than a few holes plugged away from a contender. You're right about their young talent. Young as in not ready for prime time. You've got Revis chasing money, signing with a team that runs more zone then complaining that they are running too much zone and wasting his talents. You've got Mark Dominik, a money man who has no business selecting talent. You've got Greg Schiano with his college mentality. The players don't respect him. He's the owner's guy, not the GM's guy. I mean the players had a player's only meeting BEFORE the season even started. They had to know at that point how bad this was going to be and a lot of that falls on the coach. His time is limited!! Then you have Josh Freeman. Limited physically, soft mentally. Did he really perform better under Morris? I mean Morris did let him move around more, let him get out of the pocket and throw on the run which is what he's OK at. Standing in the pocket and delivering he's not that good at, doesn't matter if he was under Morris or not. He didn't have the coach's confidence. The players didn't have his back or he would have kept his captaincy. If he was good enough, the guy who drafted him would have told the coach that he needs to make it work but obviously he's lost the confidence of the front office too. What it boils down to is he's just not good enough. He's not a guy who you say when the chips are down, can we count on this guy? Can he throw the team on his back and carry us to victory? 5 years in you have to know that and if he's not that guy then it's time to start looking again. He's not that guy!!!! So I'll say again I have no idea why anyone thought that this team would take this major leap and be a contender with all of the factors screaming the opposite even before their QB checked out mentally.

it came out this week that the Bucs thought they had Carson Palmer locked up to replace Freeman but Arizona came in at the last second and gave Palmer a better offer

Freeman was pretty good his 2nd year. Showed a lot of promise and potential to be great, but hasn't been as good since.

Maybe he hasn't been great this year, but bench him in favor of Mike Glennon?

I am willing to go on record and say they will regret this. I mean if Glennon comes out and struggles worse and suddenly the hole they have to climb out of is insurmountable.... that leaves a lot of time to consider replacing the head coach.

how come the head coach never gets benched? Martin isn't the new variable, the head coach is.

This decision was most likely made a while ago but they gave Freeman another shot because of his potential. But Schiano wants to run the ball, play d and get good decision making from the qb. Freeman just isnt a good decision maker. They probably liked Glennon throughout cano, but didnt have ball to make the call a month ago.

My guess is that the front office concluded that Freeman is not there guy. Therefore, but in ANYONE else, lose games because of it, and with that higher draft pick, get your franchise QB

This was a coaching decision, not front office. Schiano needs to win this year or he's going to be unemployed. He couldnt careless about draft picks, he believes he has a better shost to win games with Glennon, and he is probably right.

Apparently, he's been told he's not even allowed to watch the game from the sidelines

Its most likely because of how he handled the benching.

This is an ugly situation for Tampa. Putting this kid in this spot is a huge risk. Who knows, maybe the kid will show us something but the rest of that team will really have to step it up and help him. Freeman is done there, amazing how fortunes change. A couple years ago, the guy was considered a future star.
