LOL! The Browns just hired Rob Chudzinski..... He had two good seasons as an offensive coordinator. The first was that 10-6 year with Cleveland where Derreck Anderson played out of his mind. His second was with Cam Newton as a rookie.

More failure for Cleveland.

I love it.

Browns are now hiring Norv Turner as OC.

This will likely create a situation where Chud is fired (probably middle of second season) and replaced with Turner. God hates Cleveland.

Mind boggling for both the Browns and Turner. Not sure what the Browns were thinking with the HC hire, and not sure what Turner is thinking as the hottest commodity out there for OC. He surely could've done better than Cleveland.

Edit: I'd be willing to bet it was a 2 for 1 typa deal. Chud, you can bring Norv along with you, and you have the job.

I don't think Turner is official yet...but if he goes to Cleve hands down they have the best OC in the division.

I won't argue that Norv isn't a good offensive coordinator - He is. But, he's not a miracle worker. The years he was a coordinator for Miami, Oakland and San Francisco he managed very average offenses. He's exceptional when he has some talent in place - Look what he did with Dallas or San Diego when having multiple options. Cleveland has very little talent on the offensive side of the ball. It's a pretty big building job there.

Obviously they have some questions at QB, but they've got a good young WR corps, and what could be Pro Bowl caliber RB. I would say the cupboard is far from empty

Plus their offensive line is really good. I don't think Cleveland's offensive talent is all that bad.

thinking this over
Browns Offense:

QB: ugh
RB: good
FB: I don't know
TE: ok, could be better
WR1: need a legit #1
WR2: they have 2 of them
OL: good ? I'd have to watch to be sure, but ok, I'll concede that the OL is better than average.

so, overall, their offense could be better. Running backs like Trent Richardson don't grow on trees, so that's something they can build on, but over-all, their offense is not good.

Cleveland isn't that bad. They have a damn good O-line, a future all-prom RB, talented recievers, and decent or better defense. Their biggest question mark is at QB, but Weeden isn't the worst QB in the league, and with a year under his belt odds are he will get better.

Cleveland's biggest problem is the same problem the Bengals have struggled with, the mental part of the game. They can't get out of their own way because of the weight of all of their history on their shoulders. That's one of the biggest reasons I am happy they didn't get Zimmer. He knows how to establish mental toughness.

Hell, the Bengals overcame a lot of that mental crap with Marvin, and he doesn't have a quarter of the will to win that Zimmer has. Hopefully for Cincy, this new guy is another in the long line of mental midgets on the Cleveland sideline.

Greg Little = Brandon Tate

So this talk of talented receivers is a bit overstated in my opinion.

Zimmer must absolutely suck at interviewing. The only thing I can think of is that potential suitors are worried he will not work well with people under him given his personality. I don't know but I feel bad for the guy professionally.

Joe Thomas is fantastic and Alex Mack is a good center.... I don't know who else is on their line. I know they didn't run the ball very well at all - And that's even with the addition of a top 10 draft pick running back. Their receivers do not scare anyone and Weeden still has a lot to prove. I think there are still a lot of question marks.

They drafted a RT this past draft that was on the all rookie team this year.

Josh Gordon is a legit #1 WR.

I don't agree at all that Little = Tate. Little wasn't a WR until his jr. year of college and then he was suspended as a senior and didn't play a game. Even after all that as a rookie he had 61 rec for 700 yards and 2 TD's. He added another 53 this year for 650 yards and 4 TD's. Now he has had some problems with drops but he has only been a WR for 3 years. He gets open really well and has legit breakaway speed. Give this kid another year or 2 and he will be a legit #2 guy.

I don't know how true this is because I just heard it from a co-worker who is a Browns fan, but according to him, after that game against Cincy where Little dropped something like 3 or 4 passes, he didn't drop another pass the rest of the season. Again, not sure how accurate that is, but this guy actually watched every Browns game...so.

Also, Trent Richardson had 950 yards and was playing most of the season with broken ribs.

Yeah Gordon is legit and will only get better. But their offense is just missing something. Trent is a beast and their O-Line is pretty good. Thomas might be the best OT in the NFL. But their WR core is just young. Little- 2 yrs, Gordon, 1 yr, Benjamin -1 yr, Massoquoi (injury prone) - 2 or 3 yrs. TE Cameron looks like a stud. So they have potential, but are missing one big weapon. I guess an IT factor.

The fact is they can't close out games, most likely de to their inexperience. And this lack of inexperience at HC isn't helping. I was hoping they would get a more experienced coach like Lovie or somebody.

I watched every game and down the stretch he looked like the WR he could potentially be. I don't know about that stat but he was playing lights out. So that definitely a good sign.

A lot of that IT factor can be added in with a HC who will get that big win.

Yeah if this guy can get a win. Honestly, I have never heard of the guy until Browns starting talking to him. But i dont really pay attention to coordinators as much as the men in charge.

That's where hiring someone with as much experience at Norv at OC will he...oh wait, never mind.
