Its early yet. I suspect they will be a completely different team after the all-star break down the stretch. Word.

Building around players who are past their primes will result in that often.

KG and PP were GREAT in their primes, but primes don't last forever.
???

You make it sound as if KG and Paul were already in Brooklyn and then Lopez(25yrs old), Williams(29) and Joe Johnson(32) were brought in.

Clearly not the case of "building around" KG and Paul

I honestly thought they would gel better. Age could just be too much.

A lot of it seems to be on D-Will since he is injured to start the season again. Also Lopez should be the focal point of the offense. The bench has been good but the defense hasn't. The chemistry just isn't there yet. You saw glimpses of it in the Heat game but maybe they just played harder but they did well that game. Maybe it will take some more time.

Kidd not a good coach?

WAY too early to say. As with most 1st time head coaches he's got a team that will be lucky to finish over .500.
One made up mostly of over-the-hill types and inexperienced hopefuls.

I really want to see kidd succeed but as mentioned 1st year coaches straight off the court have a poor success rate for those not named Riley inheriting a ring winning team

 People in Boston really do think that the sports world revolves around their players and ex-players. Paul Pierce and KG are extra pieces to a deep team

They play a suns team tommorrow. With Bledsoe, Dragic, Green, Plumlee. There speed could really be exposed as the suns speed and athleticism could blow them out of the gym.

Bostonians don't have any monopoly on overvaluing local team players.

From what I've seen in various places the Nets are counting on the ex-Celtics to be much more than "extra pieces."

How many minutes have they played so far this season?

Did some websurfing to answer my own question.

Pierce and KG have both started all 7 Brooklyn games this season, with KG averaging a bit over 22 minutes and Pierce 28.6. Considerably more than "extra parts" time.
