I think whatever way we look at it, we're in great shape. I guess it helps when you have quite a few needs, aye?

We aren't using to picking in the top 5, feels weird, cool and depressing at the same time.

Definitely leads to a depressing season but at the same time makes draft season all the more fun. Honestly I don't mind if we go defense especially if it is Chubb. Broncos won a Super Bowl on the back of the defense and still have a good core on that side of the ball. So adding to that with another blue chip talent would be nice. Plus this draft is deep on the offensive side of the ball.

I would not be overly excited with Darnold. If that is the direction we go I will cheer for him, but tonight I will not be pumped. Cubb, Nelson, or Barkley if he falls would make me smile all night.

I'm a bit more on the opposite side of this. I don't mind those guys and could really get behind especially Chubb but it won't have me jumping out of my seat like Mayfield, Rosen, or Darnold.

I think Denver may trade with MIA for #11, #42 and 2019 . Mayfield, Barkley , Rosen and Darnold are gone. Buff trades with CLEV.

To me if you see a true franchise QB in a draft you don't pass on that. I like Keenum but I don't see him as more than a stopgap kind of QB. I also don't see the Broncos with the addition of a Barkley, Chubb, or Nelson as all of a sudden becoming a Super Bowl contender. They have more holes than that. So if you can find your franchise QB and set them up for year 2 (hint look at Wentz and Goff) then you have yourself a real shot.

Plus to me look at the AFC. Brady and Big Ben will be retiring in the near future. After that the AFC is wide open at least QB wise. Broncos could set themselves up to dominate the AFC for years if they pick the right QB.

But everyone cares and will blast Elway if Darnold blows goat milk. Moving up and giving up a high pick for a QB that busts. Just one more knock on him for noting being able to deliver on the QB position.

Oh I'm with you completely. I would make sure to leave no doubt. Right now though there are so many countering thoughts on what is going to happen and which players each team is targeting that it is hard to know even if for sure he would be there at the Giants pick. So my guess is any trade will be for an on the clock pick.

Well Elway should not be a GM is he can't evaluate talent especially in the top 2.

I'm not disagreeing with ya on that...

Just saying you know how it's gonna go down if he takes a QB that doesn't pan out....

But there are a lot of good GM's out there who have whiffed on a top 5 pick. Sometimes it just happens not matter how well you evaluate someone, it's a different story when they get on an NFL level.

I’d say his reputation as GM is totally on the line with this draft. His best two drafts were his first two when Xanders was influencing the decisions. Since then....

I was thinking about this when the Baker news broke. He really shook things up from the norm. Normally by this point the #1 overall pick is known. Goff pick two years ago came in late, but not this late. Seems this is the furthest I ever remember it going where a team didn't seem sure on it or changed the consensus a dozen times.
