Never say never buddy. The worst thing you can do is assume a head coach is firm on a call . :) Lets see how long it takes O' Brian to replace Savage with Watson in Houston. Half-time of 1st game ? :)

Just a slight difference from a 1st round pick that you traded another 1st round pick to get moved far enough up to get and that of an undrafted player that at one point this offseason you thought about just letting go because he was so terrible.

Also at this point Sloter could never get the chemistry needed to click with the #1 guys anyway. That decision would have been needed like 2 weeks ago not after the 2nd preseason game. I know you are mostly joking though Randymon so hopefully tonight one of our guys just show so well that the Sloter conversation is never needed.

Almost every team has a Sloter. Looks OK against the 3rd team most of whom will never see an NFL regular season game.

True. Not many are fortunate to have a TS or PL either. Right now Denver has a good shot at having a Hoyer, McCown, Oswieler, Henne, Tolzien, Cassell and then some all wrapped in one! The future is bright for sure. Yippy ! :)

I'm not advocating seriously for Sloter, but I have seen stranger things happen in the NFL - than a guy like Sloter step up and become a fan favorite.

You know the saying... A fans favorite person is the backup to a struggling QB situation. In this case, the back up to the back up.

Go Sloter! I'll say this about Sloter - he has good mechanics, executes well and seems to play without thinking (Lynch's trip wire).

Sloter gets ball out quickly and has good zip on ball at least . Lynch has this long wind up and really struggle with anticipation. He's late with delivery to wrs constantly. He throws after they break. Sloter has decent shot to take # 2 spot if Lynch continues to look this bad.

I'm not convinced Sloter is even making the team unlike some around here. We may only carry two QB's on the active roster with 1 on the PS.

Yeah well I'm not convinced Lynch is any better than Sloter. He certainly doesn't look like a viable # 2 that's for sure. Not saying either is but you certainly can't say Lynch is. He's gotten to work with 1st team and sucks. I say give Sloter some of his reps and at least see what he's made of. Nothing Sloter has done in two preseason games has earned your total dismissal of his chances. Maybe No. Colorado turned you down ? ;)

I never said Lynch was better then him... I haven't seen anything from Lynch to say he is better then anyone at this point.

I am simply saying in the NFL, when you're an undrafted QB vs a 1st round QB, your opportunity isn't gonna be there RIGHT AWAY! Maybe down the line, but we can store Sloter on the PS for now.

it has nothing to do with Sloter's play vs Paxton. It has to do with the investment. If you don't think politics are involved in sports you're fooling yourself. Sloter obviously needs more time to learn an NFL system and work his way up but we all know Paxton is gonna get more of an opportunity at this particular time then him.

I think you're confusing analysis and opportunity here. If they were both undrafted then Sloter would be clearly ahead of Paxton IMO, but I don't get to see every practice. There is a reason why Paxton works with the first team and Sloter does not. Denver wants everything in their power right now to see Lynch succeed. Down the line the opportunity might be there for Sloter, but it isn't right now.

I'm pretty sure Sloter will make it to the PS for at least a year.

He's gonna be about 40 by the time that happens. Then what are we gonna do?

But imagine Brees right now on this team. :)

Get Brees,draft Rudolph.

Problem solved. Everyone is happy! Or at least will be soon after when we win with Brees and see the bright future we have with Rudolph. :)
