He randomly popped into my mind today.

Remember this guy? He made our roster undrafted. Punted for a year and a half for us... Cut him part way through his second season. Titans claimed him and 9 years later he is still their punter... Not a guy you hear about much, but he's lasted! Maybe not worthy of his own thread, but hey! It's a random throwback to Brett Kern and he's lasted quite awhile now.

I occasionally read OM, but threads quickly devolve into gnashing of teeth, or worse yet, personal vendettas. We are a much smaller community here, so not as many posts which at times makes us boring. Some of us have been friends for years so you have to figure out the meaning behind the barbs. Sorry about that!

Great name. A year ago I spoke to Dennis Smith who had me send my jersey I had of him to him, he signed it and sent it back. Great guy!

Yeah, I got this years Madden and was checking rosters as I am wont to do and noticed Kern still punting for the Titans. Checked his stats and saw he only punted for us briefly. Oddly, I thought he was here a good 2-3 years.

Anyway, whatever happened to Micah Knorr?

After we cut Knorr, he went around the block and faded at the same time.

I remember him being on the Jets and Panthers after us and then we re-signed him 2 years later but cut him shortly after. Yeah we've had some punting issues over the years. The Jets picked him up the off-season after we cut him but he never made them, didn't play that entire season then Carolina gave him another shot and cut him before cutdown day. After Carolina cut him we were in major punter panic and signed him in the off-season, in which we traded for Todd Sauerbrun so that was the end of Micah Knorr. Sauerbrun then was also a disappointment and the end of him came when he failed a roids test and was suspended. we probably lead the NFL in suspended kickers/punters. (Sauerbrun and Prater)

I've always appreciated kickers and punters. The first jersey I ever wanted was a Jason Elam. Never got one. Still kinda want one.

Elam would be a fun jersey to have. Look on ebay. I have a ton of Bronco jerseys, but the RETRO are the best because you can always wear those.

You won't see me out so much in my Bubby Brister jersey.

I have ton of fun ones.

Olandis Gary, Tatum Bell, Howard Griffith come to mind.

Speaking of punters. Remember the year we drafted Nick Harris out of Cal in round 4, then Tom Rouen still beat him out? Yeah, that was a fun pick. Nick Harris ended up playing several years in Detroit.

I remember liking the Nick Harris pick as several of us were promoting him as a great future punter. If I remember, we were surprised he was selected that early, but still considered it a good selection. Ah, the joys of being wrong!
