Who the hell is that? Leave it to the bears to take another candidate straight out of left field.

At the very least the Bears went away from "Bears family" reports are that Pace had a REALLY good interview and he had a good explanation of the Big Picture for the Bears moving forward, with multiple draft plans. And not just how to fix next year. That's good.

(the dude is the same age as me! smh... what have I done with my life? I could be the GM of the Chicago Bears. LOL)

OMG!!! the guy has had the job for 30 minutes!!! Just like stupid ass Bears fans for bitching about nothing!
If Ballard was hired we would have heard that it was a bad move cause he was with Angelo/Emery.
GIVE THE GUY A FREAKING CHANCE!!!! Coach is next.

Haa... Reports are that Bowles was waiting in the lobby as the Bears finalized Pace Deal... then said Ok now go to work! Ha. That's awesome. Talk about being thrown in quickly. Ha

The silver lining to me is that I respect the Saints organization especially in recent history. It's not like the guy came from the Jaguars or Raiders.

No one said anything about not giving him a chance...........it seems like we hire gus that no one on this board has talked about........And the same will be of the head coach.

I`m betting it will be someone that has not been talked about.....that's all, nothing less.

So take it easy and take a chill pill for cry`in out loud.lol

Wonder how surprised Bowles was, when he walked into the room to find Pace there as the new GM.

I know Andy Reid was hired before the KC GM
Pete Carrol was hired before the Seattle GM

I just like the GM being hired first and taking part in the HC search.

Emery was the next hot candidate nobody knew about, at least Pace is just a candidate not many knew about, but coming from a proud organization.

Entering his 12th year as a member of the Saints player personnel department, Pace spent the last six seasons as the club’s Director of Pro Scouting. In addition to overseeing the club’s staff of pro scouts, Pace’s responsibilities included recommending player acquisitions by evaluating current Saints players and scouting current and future free agents from the NFL and other professional leagues, monitoring the waiver wire, researching possible trade opportunities and supervising the advance scouting of upcoming opponents. In addition, as the organization prepared for the NFL Draft following the season, Pace assisted in the evaluation of some of the top college prospects.

In 2008, he was selected by the club to attend the Stanford Business School’s Executive Education NFL-Stanford Program for Managers, an educational program and honor known across the league as an important training ground for promising executives.

Eastern Illinois has a weirdly fruitful pipeline to the NFL considering the stature of the school.

well, he was definitely not a guy I wanted, considering the Saints are on a downhill slide lately, and he was the one who did the trade up for Brandin Cooks, which I thought was a terrible deal for New Orleans to make.

But whatever. Have to give him a chance and some time and let him make his own bed.

At least he will be in on the head coach decision. That's a plus. And very glad we didn't hire Ballard.

???

If you haven't heard of the new head coach we hire, that's kind of your fault for not looking into who any of the top assistants are. Or for not knowing the former head coaches that will be interviewing.
