Johnson must be some sort of douchebag or something. Hell he lost his last job despite a 194-70 record and now he gets fired by the Nets for going .500??? Thats like their best record in the last 10 years. LOL. He must really piss off the higher ups.

Rumors swirling around Deron Williams being a huge one too.

Not all that surprised. I figured he was about a week or two away from being fired if they continued the downward trend. Guess I was off by a week.

Phil turned them down. I'm surprised at all since the Nets aren't stacked with superstars that Phil requires to be successful.

Yeah his bout with cancer and all the plastic parts he has in his body has nothing to do with it. He's considering only contenders now because he doesn't even really want to coach, let alone coach a team that probably won't get him to the Finals. I'm pretty sure he'd prefer being a front office guy these days. The only team that was honestly considerable was the Lakers but we all saw how short buss f'd that up royally. If Mike Brown had been given more of a chance and fired later on that would have given Phil even more incentive to not have to travel through the majority an 82 game season.

What about Doc Rivers? I have yet to hear any criticism on his "I don't want to wait for the Celtics to rebuild".

The Nets was expecting much more and Avery Johnson doesn't play enough defense. Most was expecting them to be atleast 2nd or 3rd place and they under-acheived their potential. It's not surprising at all to me
