The saints had a bunch of players restructure and sign roster bonuses in addition to trading Graham and Grubbs and releasing Lofton and PT.

I just left the other board because I have had all I can from know it all pats fan Catchbluefish. I don't think people realize the saints have not had a explosive secondary since 2010. Thats the missing piece.

Yep I was reading something today that said SP said the #1 goal this offseason was to find a # 2 CB as he felt that was our weakest position. If Lewis stop being a bitch our secondary looks good....now to get some help at DE & LB

3/14/2014: Signed a three-year, $15.15 million contract. Includes $1 million guaranteed. 2015-2016: $1.9 million (+$2 million roster bonus), 2017: Free Agent

If that is what it is, that is a 1 year contract. BB will have to have a solid year to see year 2 of that deal.

Spiller was in NO a long time last night like Browner was the other night. And we corrected the Sprole mistake if he signs.

Spillers so intriguing, if he could ever stay healthy he can be electric... just so damn fragile.

browner...made as many good plays as awful plays/penalties this year.

i used to close my eyes when a QB dropped back to pass on him.

hes a good corner, but not on his own. he can be the guy who pops people at the line, but he lacks the speed to cover most elite WR's. you need a revis type on the other side.

Browner isn't a stellar cb, quick players that cut on a dime can eat his lunch. However Browner will thump WRs and take the will out of them. He brings a tough guy approach to a team and that can be useful. Not a #1 cb, but a decent , not great #2. For a team that needs to add toughness, he's a plus. If a team already has it, he surplus.

I don't think you guys realize how bad the Saints #2 CB has been for years now.

I think Browner will be a plus for the Saints. He'll bring the toughness to the defense and I think the Saints can use it. He'll be great against big receivers and if he can get a shot in to a small receiver he can put the fear of God in him. There will be times a little quick guy will eat him for lunch however. I'd say it was a good pickup for the Saints.

Hopefully they can pickup a better Nickel CB ( released our nickel CB from last year) who has speed so Browner won't be put in a situation where he is matched-up against a burner. Lewis doesn't have great speed either so a fast corner who can actually cover would be nice.

This would be dumb

Saints coach Sean Payton is taking no prisoners.

According to CBSSports.com NFL Insider Jason La Canfora, Payton is willing to move any player that he doesn't deem as essential to the success of the team in the near future.

Therefore, with cornerback Keenan Lewis posting some criticism on his Twitter account about the recent Saints trades, Payton is now considering trading the cornerback.

Payton has called some teams around the league to inquire on any interest in Lewis.

Lewis, who signed a five-year, $25.5 million contract in 2013, recorded 41 tackles and two interceptions this past season.

Well Lewis was added after Payton returned from suspension. His head was not in it completely and he probably added him on behalf of Ryan and the fact he was from NO. He does not like anyone who does not appreciate playing for the saints. He wants people that want to play for them and that will respect his choices. Payton is one of the smartest coaches in the league, he built this team from the mediocrity it was before 06, he scolded the players early on when they had that 0-4 start in 07. It would be crazy to lose Lewis, but maybe we'll draft someone good at CB. There's only really one top stud corner but last year the top ranked corners were really not the best. Joyner, Breeland, and Long all outplayed Verret, Denard, and Gilbert. Fitting those former three were from the SEC and ACC's top recruiting schools.
