Coaching is a fraternity. Bad coaches somehow keep getting passed around.

See Shawn Watson, Tim Beck, Kevin Cosgrove, Bob Diaco, etc... That's just Nebraska.

I remember Wisconsin fans thanking Nebraska fans when they took Cosgrove (DC) off their hands.
Brian Van Gorder is somehow still employed too.

Charlie Weis' (schematic advantage) is probably the best example of a bad coach being passed around.

It only worked for one stop after ND. By then he was damaged goods. But fucker could negotiate a buyout better than anyone.

ND paid him more not to be the coach then the actual coach.

Brady Hoke's Sugar Bowl win is still one more NY6 win than Harbaugh has

:heh:
Even better, Hoke is undefeated in NY6 Bowl games while Harbaugh is winless in them.

I can see many of them going back to position coaches. But for them to go from coordinator to coordinator or ever be given another HC job is the WTF.

If Weis couldn't win at Notre Dame (3-9), (7-6), (6-6), what makes anyone think he could win at Kansas?

Like I said, coaching is a fraternity. Once you're in the fraternity you'll always find a job somewhere.

Then there is the 'loyalty' angle, a la Mike Stoops as DC at Oklahoma.

Don’t get me started on the fucking loyalty of head coaches.

Example: Saw today that Texas Tech hired Orlando.

I remember Chase Daniel at Missouri saying that Kevin Cosgrove's defense at Nebraska reminded him of defenses he saw in high school.

Wisconsin DC (1995 - 2003) > Nebraska DC (2004 - 2007) > Minnesota DC (2009 - 2010) > Akron DC (2011) > New Mexico ILB (2012 - 2013) then New Mexico DC from (2014 - 2018).

He is now a "Defensive Analyst" at LSU.

that 13-12 included SDSU's first winning season (9-4 in 2010) since going 7-5 in 1998 and they've had a winning record every year since. so I'd say Hoke was a considerable improvement over what they got from their coaches the decade prior.

Hoke may have flopped at UM, but I hope he does well and can sustain the success Rocky Long had.

Brady Hoke also managed to beat Ohio State at least once. Argument back on.
I wish we saw more 6 win OSU teams on our schedule. It would make that task a bit easier.

I hope so, because they are running away with the worst P5 program trophy at the moment. Oregon State was giving them a run for their money, but they have it firmly in their grasp at the moment.
Kansas and Rutgers are tied for the fewest wins among P5 teams the last 4 seasons.

Kansas destroyed Rutgers during that time.

Always thought he'd be a great special teams coach.

It’s easier to win conference games in the PAC than it is in the B1G and Big12.

Oregon State regularly play FCS opponents while Rutgers doesn’t.

Oregon State is only 3 wins ahead despite being 5-7 this year and went 30 games where their 4 wins were over 3 FCS teams that were a combined 4-20 and an overtime win over Colorado in which Colorado blew a 31-3 3rd Quarter lead.

Kansas is not only better than Rutgers, I believe they are better than Oregon St.
