Can't stand the fan base of either one of those teams. I had some sympathy for the Red Sox fans prior to 2004. But it was misguided. Their fans turned into a bunch of blowhard, arrogant dicks after they won the 2004 World Series. And after the 2007 World Series, they became intolerable.

The Blue Jays thing I can understand. The British Columbia fans in particular are kinda caught between rooting for the only team in their home country and the only team in the vicinity of where they live and it's the only time they get a chance to see those teams play each other without traveling thousands of miles to do it. The huge numbers of Red Sox and Yankees fans at our games just screams "bandwagon" more than anything else. I know that there are east coast transplants over here in the Seattle area, as there are in a lot of west coast cities, but that many per team?

Yankees fans were the worst. Some of those guys were spouting off like it was their god given right to sign Felix for a gazillion dollar contract and were talking about how stupid he was for signing with the team in the city he actually wants to play for.

It wasn't just Yankee fans, though. Baseball writers everywhere thought the "King Felix goes to Yankees" scenario was inevitable one way or another. For years, it seems like we had a "Mariners should trade Felix to Yankees" or "Felix should force trade to Yankees" article coming out every couple of weeks, not to mention the number of people that suggested as much on this board and on the old ESPN board before that.

That many bandwagon fans and not one can be bothered to talk about their team? Probably because most of them have no idea how this game works if the Swauks aren't half way through the World Series.

There's just no activity on there whatsoever. Most of the Sox posters that were on here used to post in the CBS threads and left. I usually go on SOSH for talking about the Red Sox.
