Boyce

So we have aguy that is faster than Mercury. He is now healed from broken toe. He was never more than a project for THIS year. Loss of several starters.....
This guy is incredibly gifted. He has been coached for most of a year. Can he be an impact in the next 3 games and ready for the playoffs?

Amendola is pretty sure handed IMO, not sure why he hasn't been targeted as often, perhaps he is having issues grasping the offense in his first year.

Tougher I agree, I can't say one way or another about who tries harder. Brady targets who is open, maybe Edelman is a better route runner or quicer to get open?

Hoping they keep Edelman no matter what else they do. It's not like Boyce replicates Edelman's skill set. Edelman is much quicker and more elusive, Boyce is much faster.

With Rob Gronkowski injured Danny Amendola saw his highest number of targets since Week 5, but Shane Vereen was the real target king with 17. He ended up catching 12 for 153 yards, which set a record for Patriots’ running backs. He also ran in a touchdown, so not a bad day all around. Julian Edelman saw nine targets and caught six for 64 yards and a touchdown.

Vereen, Edelman and Amendola look like they’ll all see plenty of work with Gronkowski done for the season.

Vereen is the next guy up imo, at least til Dobson/Thompkins return (maybe even then). He's got true star potential.

I like Boyce. He has that speed we have been talking about. He had that guy beat last week on the holding call. He should be returning punts and are outside WR opposite KT or AD. Keep Edelman and send Dola packing. We don't need him.

Boyce has the speed to hurt! Edelman is a completely different receiver. I have no complaints with Amendola.
This year has been brutal. Throwing any of our receivers under the bus would be stupid IMHO. We have a lot of young players that show signs of greatness (not yet achieved)

Edelman is the ONLY receiver we have been able to count on. That would be different, in a normal year.

Back to Boyce. He was and is a developmental project. Finish the job.....
