For those of you who remember last season on the espn board, I ran an NHL Board Tournament. What I did was ask 16 people to sign up, drew their conference assignments by lot and I seeded them 1-8. Then ran a Saturday picks contest where you picked the winners of each game. Points were awarded based on the following; regulation win 3 points, ot/shootout win 2 points, ot/shootout loss 1 point, regulation loss 0 points. If you out scored your opponent you won that week tie breaker was the total number of goals scored on Saturday using final score. We played 3 of 5 games for rounds 1 + 2, 4 of 7 games for rounds 3 + 4. Just so everyone knows AzDuckFan70 defeated kenyg54 in the finals 4 games to 2. I thought I would do the same type of tournament here this season modified somewhat, this because I had some people sign up and never post a pick.
So what I have in mind is bragging rights not just you the person but for your favorite team as well. This season the NHL has 25 Saturday schedules no game on 12/25 and no games on 1/29. Each person will sign up for a team and you will be put into that teams division and conference only one person per team. The first 11 Saturdays will be our regular season to try to qualify for the playoffs. As with the NHL the division champions will be seeded 1, 2 and 3 the remaining qualifiers 4 - 8. Once into the playoffs the first three rounds will be best 2 of 3 games and the finals best 3 of 5 games. In the playoffs you will need to post the total of goals for the weekend as a tie-breaker. In the event the tie-breaker does not break the tie the highest seed will win that weekends game.
