Great pick. 2 picks and 2 good players. 3-7 should be fun as well.
ESPN report on Smith: What he brings: He's a tough and versatile defensive end prospect with very good strength. His best attribute is as a run defender, but he's an effective power rusher, especially when moved inside to defensive tackle on passing downs.
How he fits: It will be interesting to see how new defensive coordinator Joe Barry uses the versatile Smith. He projects best a defensive end in Barry's scheme based on the tape, but he's capable of lining up at outside linebacker based on the way he tested, and he's an excellent pass-rusher when he reduces inside. New general manger Scot McCloughan gets a player who bolsters the defensive front regardless of where he plays, and McCloughan has done a good job of getting better in the trenches on both sides of the ball with his first two picks.
FWIW, Walterfotball said they thought he could have snuck into the bottom of the first round. I know nothing about him, but he sounds solid if you go by what the talking heads say.
