seems rather fair...i feel like all GMs should go to an arbitrator for some of the deals that go down. i hate that just because colby armstrong got 3 mil, suddenly that's the minimum expected by 2-3 liners. the GMs are shooting theirselves in the foot. annnyway! i think the bruins go with this easily.

Hasn't done anything worthy of $2.4 mil yet. He's a 20-20-40 guy that's 6'5" and plays like he's a foot shorter. Absolutely terrible in the playoffs. Lots of Bruins fans want to keep him because big guys take forever to develop, and a fifth overall pick certainly has some talent, but I'd be fine with moving him for a defenseman that can actually rush the puck.

God I miss Bourque.

40 points is fine for 2.4 mil.

If you get 40 points for every 2.4 mil you spend, spend to the cap, and use 6 million on goalies (which is a lot), you end up with 900 points, or at least 300 goals. Defensemen drag that number down a bit, but unassisted or single assisted goals help it.

Yeah, I'd hit it.

40 points per 82-game period corresponds by my equation to $2.6 million, so good deal for the Bruins.

I would never doubt your maths skills or the magic equation, but we ARE talking about 2 million plus dollars.

I know...I know, it's paltry in today's sports world, but.....damn, that is a lot of money to be a grade C+ producer.

2 million should get you 60 points? then hartnell was seriously overpaid when he got 60. players that get 80 points get about 5 mil. so math shows that 2.4 is fine for 40 points.

No shit Hartnell was over paid. If he was making 25k all of last season before the playoffs started, it would have been too much!

I totally agree with you AJ, he disappeared in the playoffs. I don't know if we'll be lucky to ever have another Bourque
